Reprogramming does not seem to work

I have a CR stuck in bootloader mode, I tried to program it using the Arduino IDE but keep getting this error:

How can I take it out of bootloader mode or just update the firmware?

You seem to report that it is stuck in bootloader mode, how did that happen?
Anyway you have to select the appropriate COM port when the unit switches to bootloader, although that should be done automatically by the IDE.
