Moteino USB any different than Moteino + FTDI Adapter? OSX environment

I'm on OSX 10.11 and the Moteino USB works but I can't get any to work using the FTDI connector.

I tried installing this driver without luck: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP/MacOSX/FTDIUSBSerialDriver_v2_3.dmg

What FTDI chip is on your FTDI adapter? Is it a recent FTDI adapter? Perhaps a photo?
Regardless, the FTDI should work the same as the MoteinoUSB.

Hi Felix, the FTDI (https://lowpowerlab.com/shop/product/90) does indeed work. I just had to connect it without the Moteino connected to it first.
