Wireless OTA with different baud rate

Hello, first post here!.

I have a couple of moteinos here buyed a while ago from Felix.
I've been trying the air range and playing with different bitrates and now I have a little question regarding Over the air upgrade.

Since I've modified the receiving node with slow bitrate registers (see  post https://lowpowerlab.com/forum/index.php/topic,562.0.html)

Now I am unable to do over the air upgrade, BTW the receiving node resets but It's unable to establish communication and OTA fails (of course the sender node have the same bitrate configuration) so I suspect the bootloader is only ready for Felix default bitrate 55555k correct?

I've tried to initialize de sender node radio again after detecting the serial strings but I don't know if I'm on the correct path...

Anyone tried this?

Regards and excuse my English.

Felix

The bootloader has nothing to do with the radio. It only looks at the SPI FLASH MEM chip, to look for a HEX image there. As long as you get that image in the FLASH MEM somehow, the bootloader's job is to move it into the main atmega flash memory, erase the image from FLASH MEM when done, and reset the chip to start running the new program.

How you get the image over the air (OTA) is totally up to you. You can change the settings in the WirelessHEX69 library as you please. I've given an example using the standard bitrate settings in the library, but shifted the frequency of the OTA transfer, then shifting back when finished. This is to avoid flooding the main RF channel of the rest of the network.  This works very well.

Keep trying, the settings are tricky. Make sure you understand the various settings of the RF chip. It's not as easy as just changing the bitrate, you also have to worry about bandwidth etc. Through out the forum various discussions have settings for lower bitrates so you might want to search for those and try those.
