Title: RFM69W with 868 or 915MHz ??
Post by: gert on May 30, 2017, 12:16:56 AM
Hi All,

How do I find out if my RFM69 is  868MHz or 915MHz?
(Even the LPL invoice says 'Transceiver: RFM69W - 868/915Mhz' with no specificity.
I want to make a new 1/4 antenna from a piece of wire.
BTW, what's the proper piece of wire to chose? Solid or braided? What gauge?

Thanks,
Gert

Its both 858/915.  You define it in the sketch;

#define FREQUENCY     RF69_915MHZ //Match this with the version of your Moteino! (others: RF69_433MHZ, RF69_868MHZ)

For general purpose any thin wire will work, match antenna 1/4 wavelength of the frequency band you use it at.
See the guide for antennas. (https://lowpowerlab.com/guide/rf-best-practices/quarter-wave-vertical/)
