receive own RSSI? Possible?

Is it possible to receive your own RSSI?

I am trying to see if there is a way using any of the radio modules to quickly transmit an empty packet and receive the RSSI back for object detection. It might require having 2 independent modules, one in RX, one in TX. But at least I am trying to see if I can do it with 1 module.

Not with a single module.  It is either in TX or RX mode.

However, the RFM69 ATC code provides the means to get your RSSI that was received on the far end.  This is what provides the feedback to adjust your own TX power.
