I've read up on these radio but I'm having a hard time telling them apart; besides the fact they aren't compatible with each other and one has longer range.
I have an application that is short range, open air. (100-200 feet) but may be in a RF congested area (an amusement park). I need at least 28,800 or 38,400 baud, I do not need ACK and I need low latency.
Are either of these two radios good for that or are they really meant to be low power, low data rate radios?

Both are low power low datarate (RFM69 up to 300kbps, RFM95 up to ~38kbps).
For your range requirements I would try RFM69 first, tweak the settings to lower bitrate, I'm sure it will do well.
