I've been looking at the FCC and ETSI test reports on the HopeRf website for 868MHz and 915MHz respectively:
http://www.hoperf.com/upload/docs/report/RFM69CW-868S2-ETSI.pdf
http://www.hoperf.com/upload/docs/report/RFM69CW-915S2-FCC.pdf
This shows a substantial peak at the 3rd harmonic (2604MHz) for vertical polarization for the 868MHz ETSI report, but none at all for horizontal polarization. Curiously these this harmonic peak is not present in the 915MHz FCC document for either polarization. The 433MHz variant shows very little 3rd harmonic peak too.
I'm confused, it looks like this 3rd harmonic peak is an anomoly in that test report. The reason I'm concerned is these do not appear to be tested at full 13dBm power (it might be tested at 10dBm as noted in the Model type which has 10dBm in brackets), I want to use this at full 13dBm and there's not much margin with that 3rd harmonic peak there.
Any views?
Mark.

On a happier note here is the semtech link for testing their products
