RS485 Transceiver over software serial with Moteino

I am using a Moteino as a modbus transceiver to talk to some RS485 controllers. It's incorporated into a Pi gateway that I use to read/write control panel data through a web interface and on a secure mesh network using LogMeIn Hamachi (see here: https://lowpowerlab.com/forum/index.php/topic,1385.msg9624.html#msg9624). Thought this could be useful or interesting to folks:
