Title: PowerStrip Mot
Post by: HeneryH on February 23, 2018, 12:17:13 PM
I have a use-case for a power strip with individually programmable outlets.  I'm currently using this old aquarium controller for my power https://www.neptunesystems.com/products/apex-controllers/apex-controller-system/ but would like to convert over to the Gateway solution for my power strip.

Anyone else want to collaborate on the design?

Would it be as simple as a hacked SwitchMot with 8 relays where each relay is wired to a receptacle mounted in a box?

Yep, basically use a Moteino rather than that WiFi controller the author used.  Easier to hack an existing power strip rather than build a new one from scratch.  Thanks for the link and ideas.

Something similar to this?

Replacing with Moteino should be easy enough
