Felix, Regarding the updated blog I just captured a verbatum screencast and had a couple of very very minor comments...

  • Could you put a "-y" option on the apt-get install commands so they don't ask for user input?  That makes it easier to copy/paste the commands.
  • The "sudo mkdir /var/www/default" command could use a -p option to auto create the parent directory and not fail.
  • The "sudo openssl req -new -x509 -nodes -days 365 -newkey rsa:2048 -out server.crt -keyout server.key" command has one incorrect dash on the -days option.
  • The "node –v and npm –v" commands both have incorrect dash on the -v option.
  • I couldn't get the following command to work in a single line, I had to split it into two and copy/paste. "sudo echo -e "USERNAME:`perl -le 'print crypt("PASSWORD","SALT")'`" > sudo /var/www/default/.htpasswd"

I'll finish up the screen-cast and output log shortly and provide it for reference.

Felix

Fixed all, but I did not verify the -y and -p commands.
Can you please check they are correct?
