i like how you have it all worked out. i dont think i'm quite savvy enough with code to get the anemometer and rain gauge to talk with the Moteino by writing my own code. this winter, once things settle down, maybe i can try
If you're just looking to create a custom type of node (like above "Weather Station") with maybe a different icon and a bunch of new metrics, it's pretty straight forward and the hardest part would be to create the regex (regular expression) for the metrics, but there's a great site to help with that. Or even I can help if you ask in this forum.

For the Moteino sketch, the many existing examples should also help with formatting and sending your data. The hardest part would be to talk to your sensor/station (unless there is already a library for that).

i was thinking to base it off of the Weathershield with a Moteino since I'm a little familiar with that. That should be a good project for this winter when I don't have to cut grass. :D

I'll be happy to share my code if you wish to read it.

My brother-in-law also uses the exact same hardware and the same methods of access.  The only difference is that he is using Felix's GW code to display the results while my solution is more home grown.

that would be great. my email is kilo95 at aol.com if you want to send it that way. thanks!

Here is a write-up on how to hookup a Davis anemometer to an Arduino Uno:

They all work pretty much the same.

Could you help me out with sending the metrics from one of my Weathershields to Freeboard.io? I've got two and soon will start another one using the supercap and solar panel for outside. I'd like to send just that one to Freeboard. I'm going to start with just a Weathershield and then add the anemometer later. (baby steps)
