Title: Nextion HMI Display
Post by: Creotom on November 18, 2018, 08:40:11 AM
Has anyone connected a Moteino Mega successfully to a Nextion display.
I think I can do it with software serial but that is not always responsive enough.
However I can't seem to get any response using Serial1.

I have edited the config.h file in the Nextion Library to use Serial1 instead of serial2 but I'm not getting anything to work.

Any ideas?

It's ok I got it working. I was doing something daft. I'll put instructions here if anyone needs them :-)

I think a lot of us already know how to do something daft!  Thanks for the offer though  :D

No I'm afraid I spoke too soon.
I have basic button presses working but I'm unable to get data back and forth from the screen.
If anyone has successfully configured this I'd really appreciate a hand.

I'm getting the following debug error message from the serial monitor
"recvRetCommandFinished err"

I got there in the end.
The Nextion libraries don't seem to work for me but this guy did a really helpful walkthrough on using it without the library.
I have it married to the Moteino mega now and passing data back and forth with ease.
