Title: Moteino Mega USB will not program [solved: install Moteino core]
Post by: kreeve on March 16, 2018, 12:10:40 PM
I am trying to get my Moteino Mega USB to program.

Have tried both Mac and Windows computers using the Arduino IDE.
Serial port shows up, drivers updated.

I get the following message.  Not sure what to do next to troubleshoot.

vrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding
avrdude: stk500_getsync() attempt 1 of 10: not in sync: resp=0x00
avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding
avrdude: stk500_getsync() attempt 2 of 10: not in sync: resp=0x00

kreeve,
A few questions:
- is this the only MoteinoMEGA-USB you have?

- do you upload using Arduino IDE? If so:
- what target board do you use?
- did you install the Moteino core (https://lowpowerlab.com/guide/moteino/programming-libraries/) in the Arduino IDE?

- how long is your USB cable?
- does the board LEDs light up at all when you try to upload?

Thanks Felix,

I was missing the Moteino Core.
