Title: Voltage requirements for moteino mega and moteino
Post by: cambazz on March 01, 2015, 02:22:26 PM
Hello,

I have both a moteino r4 and moteino mega. What are the voltage requirements for these boards.

I understand the moteino mega is a 3.3V board. But when I tried giving 3.3V to Vin, I got maybe like 2.8V from the 3.3V output.

Do we need to feed those moteinos with > 3.3V from Vin (with 5V is perfect)

and if we were to use them with 3.3V what do we do? Feed 3.3V to 3.3V connector? What would be the lowest power consumption mode?

Best regards,
C.B.

Removing the onboard regulator is recommended.  It is easy to unsolder.  Carefully lift the #3 pin first...

See moteino.com for latest specs and recommended voltage
The regulators are linear and not switching so they will need some head room to give you 3.3v output.
