Title: Speed of Transmission
Post by: donaldhwong on April 01, 2015, 01:50:17 PM
Does anyone know from sending one byte to reception and recognize the byte, from one to another RFM69(433MHz), the actual delay in micro seconds?

Is there a way to test it?

Thank you,
Donald

It takes several ms to fully transmit a packet. Each packet has several header bytes and of course the payload. You can do a rough measurement using millis() in your code, or you can hookup to a logic analyzer to watch the SPI transmission and D2 interrup trigger - that gives you a precise delay of how long it takes to modulate the packet bytes into the medium.

For those who is interested to know the actual delay from sending one byte from one RFM69 to anther, then receive a reply of one byte back is 820~835 microseconds.
