Hello there,
I'm a newbie trying to get two RFM69HW's to say hi to each other. I'm using Felix's library with an Arduino Pro Mini.
So far, I've soldered two of these babies and one of them seem to work normally. The other one seems a bit sick though.. ;(
I've connected DIO0 to PIN 2 on the Pro Mini, which seem correct to me as it is one of the hardware interrupts of the ATMEGA 328p.
Unfortunately when I run plug the Pro mini with the faulty RFM69HW, it reboots whenever it executes the following line:
bool sendSucceeded = radio.sendWithRetry(GATEWAYID, buffer, bufferSize, RETRIES, REQUEST_ACK);.
My question might be a bit silly, but how would you go about to try and debug that? Add serial output messages in the RFM69 library?
Use a multimeter to check current on DIO0? If so, what should I look be looking for? Random current being sent? Would I need a logic analyzer or something like that?
Any help would be greatly appreciated :)
Did you get this from LowPowerLab?
Are you using a Pro mini 3.3 or 5V?
Use these in order of ease: debugging statements in code/lib, logic analyzer. Multimeter is only good to check voltages in your case.
Hello Felix,
No I didn't get the chips from LowPowerLab but I thought that this forum would probably be one of the best places around to ask this ;-)
I'm using a 3.3V Pro mini.
I'll try to see the exact point at which the Arduino crashes. Since I don't have a logic analyzer yet.. ;-)
The problem might be that you are sending the wrong type of data to the radio.send function. Make sure that each variable is the exact type that the function is looking for.
