Title: RFM69CW vs RFM69HW - Can someone explain differences in initializing/programming
Post by: AntonW on October 21, 2014, 06:39:17 PM
Hi together,
I am a newbie with the RFM wireless transceivers.

I got me a RFM69CW-433mhz, but should have taken a '69HW one, as all examples are using the '69HW.

Now when assembling the test setup, I cant get the one 69CW talk to another 69CW.
I had used the coding setup from the RFM69HW and applied it to the 69CW, but when putting the receiving 'CW in promiscuous mode, it does not receive anything.

Question, are there parameter differences when initializing the 69CW vs the 69HW?
Does anybody in the team have experiences with the 69CW?

Hope somebody can share some insights.
Anton.

CW is just a W, but the physical layout is that of a RFM12B. So use it as a RFM69W, not as HW.
There is a RFM69HCW which would be used as a RFM69HW.

Thank you for the information.

I had used  the 'official Arduino version 1.0.6 and the libraries supplied there.
Once I switched to the Beta 1.5.8, the problems went away.
