I'm trying some custom code and first shot didn't work so I am starting with the very basic tutorials and working up.
The Blinky tutorial should blink the built-in LED on pin 13. I see on the schematic that the Moteino seems to have an LED on 13.
So... If I connect a Moteino to the FTDI adapter and successfully upload the Blinky sketch, shouldn't the on-board LED start blinking?
I'm using the Arduino/Genuino Uno board type.

Led is on digital pin 9 for a Moteino:

As ssmall said, the Moteino uses D9 for the built-in LED. The Arduino uses D13.
And, for best results, you should probably add the Moteino family of devices to your Arduino IDE. This is particularly true if you ever want to add a Mega Moteino or some of the other Moteino products.
There are directions on the Felix's web site showing how to add the Moteino device type to the IDE.
