Title: Problems with SHT1X
Post by: zippy on April 07, 2014, 05:58:57 PM
Hi Folks,

I'm having problems using an SHTx1 (http://www.dfrobot.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=80)  on a moteino.  I'm using this library: https://github.com/practicalarduino/SHT1x  and the sketches that run perfectly on a regular UNO fail on the moteino.  The temperature and humidity values all come back as negative numbers.   I've tried using lots of different pins, including Analog ones (which works fine the UNO)  all with the same result.

Has anybody had any luck getting an SHTx1 to work, or have any ideas why its not in my case?  The one thing I was wondering is if the library is tuned to 16Mhz Uno and this fails on the 8Mhz moteino.

Thanks,

-e

FYI Moteino works at 3.3V and 16mhz. As long as you interface it right it should be fine. There might be other threads in the forum on the subject.. might be worth trying a search.

Thanks Felix, my bad about the Mhz.  I did do a search before posting and didn't find anything...  I also did test the SHTx1 using 3.3v on an UNO and that works fine, so I'm still stumped.

Strange. I took a quick look at the library and it's pretty simple, just 2 pins.

You say you tried several pins, which ones exactly?

Don't use pins 2, 8-13 on the Moteino, try pins 3-7, see below.
