Title: Powering Moteino from Arduino
Post by: hdhaheri on March 17, 2016, 11:14:20 AM
I am trying to power Moteino from Arduino. I connected Vin GND Moteino to Arduino 5v and GND, but nothing happens. Any ideas?

Can you define "nothing happens" ?
What do you expect to happen?

The led indicator does not flash as it boots - if it does? But I connect it to the FTDI cable it boots.

Can you load a blink sketch on it and then power it from 5V again? Does the LED blink?
If not it may be related to this other thread (https://lowpowerlab.com/forum/index.php/topic,1655.0.html), see that for details on what to try.

It woks fine when it is connected to FTDI cable. But I use the vin pin to connect to 5v of Arduino Uno, it does show any indication that it is working.

When I short the DTR to GND it blinks twice and does not continue the booting.

I found out that it is actually booting and working fine but without any blinking in the begining. That made me think that it was not working. Even I did not need to short DTR to GND! Thanks Felix
