Hi,
I'm trying to use the charger in the MotionMote kit to charge a "1-cell lithium-ion polymer battery 4000 mAh".
Doesn't seem to charge.
Theoretically should it work? Is there any mod that should work?
I know nothing about chargers.
Thanks
If its truly LiPo, the capacity does not matter. It will just take long to charge. Depending which version you have (or when you got it) the MCP73831 charger is set to charge at 212ma or 500mA, most likely 212mA (4.7K charging resistor setting) on last several batches. So at that rate it would take around 20 hours to charge.
Its a few years old.
Doesn't charge.
The battery is connected in a tablet. I'm trying to charge the battery directly because the tablet only has 1 micro usb port which is meant for charging it wont charge if there is any usb peripheral device plugged in.

Not sure I follow, the LiPo battery has to be connected only to the MotionMote, directly, nothing else. USB of the Motion mote, when plugged into a charger (5V) will charge the battery, if the battery is functional. Sometimes a computer/laptop/tablet USB will not be enough for any charging, I would use a wall plug/phone charger to ensure it can deliver a few hundred mA of current.
