Title: MoteinoUSB-R5 BoM/parts list
Post by: OSBSS on July 15, 2016, 04:42:54 PM
Looking for the actual parts list for the MoteinoUSB-R5. The Eagle brd and sch files have a few values missing for some resistors. Also, wondering which shottky diode is used and why it's drawn as a resistor instead of a diode in the schematic. What specific purpose does it serve here?

Thanks

All resistors are general purpose (usually 1%), the diode is a shottky 0603 which ensures the current from USB goes in 1 direction only, and the FTDI chip is behind that shottky so that when you power the board from VIN (battery etc) it won't power the FTDI chip.

Thanks. Looks like there's still some quiescent current draw through the RX/TX pins though. I suppose that's unavoidable?

Yeah that might be the case since the FTDI chip is grounded and the RX/TX pins are still connected to the MCU.
Maybe if the serial is disabled and pins set to output LOW that should reduce any draw, just a guess here, let me know if you try it.
