Moteino HopeRF continuous mode

Can I use a moteino or really hoperf directly connected to the PWM output of an encoder? Specifically, I have in mind HCS300.
Reading the hoperf datasheet it seems I would set DataMode to 11 "Continuous mode without bit synchronizer" and just connect the data out from HCS300 to the DIO2/DATA pin?
Am I missing anything?
