Title: ino upload fails
Post by: cosax on June 13, 2014, 06:06:39 PM
I have connected a moteino to the serial pins of a raspberry pi. The moteino is powered from an external source and its ground pin is also connected to the raspberry pi. I checked the serial communication with minicom and works as expected. The moteino was loaded with a node sketch beforehand using an FTDI adapter and a windows PC.

So far so good. Now I tried to upload a simple blink sketch to the moteino directly from the commandline of the raspberry pi using the inotool. The command is: "ino upload -m uno -p /dev/ttyAMA0". The sketch was compiled succesfully with the "ino build" command. The upload fails with the following error:

avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x53

avrdude done.  Thank you.

What did I miss? Where is the problem? Any help will be appriciated.

I think you are missing the RESET (DTR) line which puts the Moteino in bootloader mode.
You could just add another wire from a GPIO on the PI (with pullup or set to HIGH) then set it to LOW for a split second before you attempt the upload.
