Hi Felix + all
A friend recommended the moteino and they look a great bit of kit. I have been working on an alarm system idea and have built up the hardware, got the moteinos this week, and run the first examples.
I was intending to try and work my way up to understanding all the code (as my C is very limited) and master it. Tonight my father has called me and told me that someone has untied his gate in the night and let the horses out.
I was wondering if anyone could help me with a bit of code that would just toggle a pin (buzzer) on the gateway when a switch is opened on the node so I could rig up my alarm for him. I have RFM69HW's.
I've just noticed that the site has some projects too. I'll have a look through them as well.

Would it be rude to LOL?
I'm thinking you need to put Moteinos with GPS on your father's horses!
Seriously, once you learn how to use Moteinos, your 'gate warning system' would be trivial! Honestly!

Thanks Tom. I just want to get it up and running today so he feels a bit safer.
While I don't have examples that will cover each and every situation, I do have a bunch of examples that do a bunch of things which could be cherry picked and combined into something else.
For instance, I have this TxRxBlinky example (https://github.com/LowPowerLab/RFM69/blob/master/Examples/TxRxBlinky/TxRxBlinky.ino) where a button press on the sender will blink the LED on the receiver/gateway. That's probably closest to what you're after. How your gate "presses the button" is up to you to implement/adapt. You can also use the MotionOLEDMote code (https://github.com/LowPowerLab/RFM69/blob/master/Examples/OLEDMote/OLEDMote.ino) to see how to buzz a piezo buzzer. Which reminds me I should probably add that to the store as an individual part, which can come in handy for custom projects like this. But honestly, if you just get a MotionOLEDMote with the OLED display that will have everything in it, LED, buzzer, graphic display and comes in a nice case, and you can do anything you want with it, you'd just need to get a small lipo battery from adafruit or Sparkfun, it would save a bunch of time that you'd otherwise spending building the same thing as a receiver. An no, not trying to make a sale here :)
Cheers Felix. I think I have got it down now, but your examples will help. My electronics and engineering are pretty good, it's just my coding is pants :) Practice makes perfect though. Great bit of kit though! keep up the good work!
