Hi I have one Motino (gateway) connected to Raspberrypi serial port (ttyAMA0).
I have notice that if I reboot RaypberryPi with terminal or by unplugging and than plugin back the power source my gateway moteino does not respond. I need to wait for RaspberryPi to first start up than I need to disconnect the moteino from Pi and reconnect go get is working.
Any Ideas what I can do.
What revision is your Moteino?
Hi Felix,
I have
Moteino - Transceiver: RFM69HW - 868Mhz , Ver. R4
Ok that should work just fine as long as your Pi is configured correctly.
BTW how are you connecting it to your Pi?
To Felix's point more specifically, are you powering the Moteino from the Raspberry Pi or does the Moteino have it's own independent power source?
Hi Moteino is powerd by RaspberyPI
Setting on RaspberryPI
nano /etc/inittab
# Example how to put a getty on a serial line (for a terminal)
#
#T0:23:respawn:/sbin/getty -L ttyAMA0 115200 vt100
#T0:23:respawn:/sbin/getty -L ttyS0 9600 vt100
#T1:23:respawn:/sbin/getty -L ttyS1 9600 vt100
nano /boot/cmdline.txt
dwc_otg.lpm_enable=0 console=tty1 root=/dev/mmcblk0p3 rootfstype=ext4 rootwait
If moteino would has independent power source would that help. If so I can try with that but it is more convenient if I don't need extra power course.
I just remember. RaspberryPI can be also power by serial ports the same one that I have moteino connected to. What if just put power source in serial connection between moteino and RaspberryPi. I will try that but of course if you have any other ideas....
Typically you should just power the Moteino from the 5V+GND on the Pi's header, and then connect the TX to RX and vice versa. So a total of 4 wires. When you turn ON power the Moteino should start sending messages to your Pi. Unless there is a problem on the Pi end?
I guess the only way to tell if there is an issue with that one Moteino is to use another Moteino and do the same test, or with an equivalent Arduino that does some serial output after power up.
