Hi there, before I go and purchase 2 GarageMote kits and 3 Motinos, I wanted to check in to make sure that I'll be able to control both garage doors from my Raspberry Pi?

I take it there's a way to define garage door IDs so that they're independent, even though the hardware is the same?

Thanks

Felix

Yeah you will be able to. Just make sure the controller Moteinos have different IDs when you load the GarageMote sketch.
I am in the process of releasing a new GUI interface that will make it a snap to add as many sensors (or garage doors!) as you want.

This would be cool. So from the 1 dashboard on the Rasperry Pi, I'll be able to add a water sensor, or mailbox sensor, etc. So long as I have that many Moteinos.

Another question on the garage door opener. I have a chain for the door opener (not a nylon/rubber belt). Do you have a suggestion on how to mount the magnets to the chain? Zip tie or something? Velcro is a good idea, but I don't know if it'll stick enough on the chain.

Thanks!

Felix

As long as you chain is a ferrous metal it will just stick on it, they are very strong magnets.

Good point! Sometimes the obvious answer, isn't so obvious without the product in hand :)
