Title: FTDI EEPROM Settings on the FT232R
Post by: RatTrap on January 21, 2020, 02:03:58 PM
I have a few of the Low Power Labs FTDI connectors and I was thinking about what embedding them into one of my designs rather than using an adapter would be like.  I was curious if when you made yours did you have to configure anything in the FT232Rs eeprom in order for it to work with Arduino IDE, windows, and the moteino mega.  Not a spectacularly important question.  I was just curious if you had to preprogram the chip to make the USB to TTL communications work, or just mount it and use the default settings?

I did not change anything.
FTDI has a utility you can use to change vendor and product ID and other parameters, if you want to experiment with that.

Cool thank you for indulging my curiosity.  I appreciate it.
