I want to make an order of Moteino but I am not quite sure which frecuency I should buy to use it in Spain. I already have 4 units of RFM69HW @ 433mhz used during my initial testing however I dont mind changing to 868/915Mhz now that I will order to LowPowerLab. (I can use this 4 units for another stuff)
I dont really know how to find out if 433 has any restriction in Spain, I see in the spanish distributor that they offer the 868/915Mhz version.
What is troubling me also is that with the 433mhz units, and the tests I have performed so far, I am not getting the results I was expecting: (loss of ACK), peaks of RSSI.
Any suggestion before I make my Christmas order?

Unless you have a more specific need for 433mhz I would recommend going with the 868/915mhz band.
Thanks Felix, I have no other specific need, having 4 units of 433mhz is not a big deal.
I will order the 868/915mhz in that case. Hope that this fixes my communication problems! ;)
( as I fear that the order comes in and I get similar results, I would really like to understand what is going on as a learning experience...)
This is from today...
I have 3 nodes in the same room, one of them (55) has the fridge + small wall between it and the gateway. I cant figure out why RSSI is fluctuating so much and why suddenly from time to time, the ACK are lost for some time. all this happened whilst I was away from home, so none of the nodes were being manipulated.
It's hard to say. There could be potentially many factors.
I assume all the settings are good (HW, frequency etc).
I also assume all radios are not damaged or abused in any way.
If you really want to do more investigation to see if there's any issue with one of the nodes, then put a receiving node in a fixed position then test the other nodes in the same remote location, with the same phisical characteristics and environment (antenna is very important to be oriented the same way).
Interference is a possibility but not common at 433mhz. Unless they interfere between themselves, that's more of a possibility depending on how you coded them.
I once had a job which involved taking signal measurements out in the environment for a cellular system. If you think of radio waves as the same stuff as light, then you realize that they reflect off of things. But they go through many things (unlike light) , but reflect off of metal surfaces. So when I took measurements near highways, I gat lots of variations as trucks passed by. If your fridge has a metal fan for coil cooling, it might actually be causing quite a ruckus with transmission while its active. More so if it is quite close to a transceiver antenna.
