Title: Available Pinouts
Post by: donaldhwong on December 17, 2014, 01:24:00 PM
I looked at this photo to study the available pinouts of the Moteino.

It has no flash, and it said flash uses D8, D11-D13.  Does it mean that these pins are shared with RFM69W.

If not, then when there is a flash installed, what pins does it use and what are the remaining available pins.

Thank you.

The pins are also color coded, if you look carefully those are the SPI pins. So the FLASH and the RFM69 share the SPI pins, but have separate CS pins (D10 for RFM69 and D8 for the FLASH memory).

Thank you for your quick reply.  Since there are only three pins for the SPI bus, I guess if I need to add another RFM69, I should share the same three pins for the SPI, using perhaps D7 for the chip select?

BTW, what does DIO0 -> D2 connection do?

Thank you as always.

Yes you'd need to share the SPI pins and use a different CS pin, D7 would work.
D2 (INT0) is for the RFM69 interrupt, so you would need to use  the other remaining hardware interrupt to add another RFM69, which is D3 (INT1).
Please see the library header definition for more details how this is used: https://github.com/LowPowerLab/RFM69/blob/master/RFM69.h
