Title: Activity LED using RFM69 DIO
Post by: musskopf on March 25, 2015, 10:41:20 PM
Hello,

I'm wondering if anybody has implemented an activity LED, let's say for TX/RX Rf data using the RFM69 DIOs? I have a look on the datasheet (RFM69CW page 48) and looks like the DIO2 is configured by default to "interrupt" on FifoNotEmpty. The only thing I'm not sure about is the DIO pin max current. Is not clear on the Datasheet, but apparently it can source/sink 1mA, so a mosfet would be necessary I guess.

The main objective is to have the LED blinking without code and not consuming another PIN from the MCU - as I already used all :)

Does anyone has experience with the DIOs? Looks like they can report on lots of interesting things!

Cheers

Got home now and found a N Channel to test... works fine, check schematic attached...

Yep, that works, thanks for sharing. In battery nodes you'd want a way to disconnect it to save power, a jumper or a switch.

Hey,

good to know, thanks for the tip.

looking at the schematic you provided, the 0603 LED seems to be reversed.

Good catch Charly :)
