Title: 2.4 Ghz Moteino
Post by: lilpint97 on January 26, 2014, 09:29:28 AM
Has anyone tried using a RFM73P on the moteino, or created any libraries for said configuration? I have done some searching and not seen anything yet, this is just a thought, have a house that sucks RF like a black hole, converting everything to 915Mhz, but thought I would play with 2.4 as well. Thanks.

I think 2.4ghz is a lot more crowded than sub ghz channels.
Also that module is larger than the moteino itself, cost would go up both for the radio and for the Moteino (larger PCB etc).
At first glance there's no library for it either. So does it make sense to reinvent the wheel all over again?

Nope you are correct, I was just thinking about it, the raspberry pi, arduino & moteino has gotten me back in electronics again, and I having so much fun :) But for my current boat project 915MHz is my goal I am 400 feet away so may be able to do a gateway at the house, versus cellar/internet connection. Thanks for advice.

Yeah I think you should be able to get 400 feet assuming most of it is line of sight. Keep us posted on your progress!
