Title: [Solved] 1 moteino not working out of 6 :(
Post by: vlad59 on January 10, 2015, 07:02:21 AM
Hi all,

I bought 6 moteino (with RFM69, 3 433MHz and 3 868MHz) in december and finally took the time to test them. I used a cheap FTDI from ebay.

I was able to test 5 of them completely (almost all the pins + RFM69).

Unfortunately with the last one (868MHz if that matters) I can't upload any sketches. I always get a message saying that the COM port is closed.

I checked my solder joints and everything seems fine enough. The led is blinking so it seems that power is working ....

Is there any other test to do ?
Do you need some hi res picture to check my solder work ?

Thanks in advance.

Well .... How to put it ....  :o

Every single moteino are working today. I don't understand at all, yesterday, I checked with a friend, with 2 FTDI and 2 computers. Anyway, sorry for the noise !

I'll check again tomorrow (in case I'm under a bad spell), I'll also see my shrink (in case I'm getting crazy).

Thanks for getting back and sorry for not replying sooner, weekends are slower for me, more family time etc.
All moteinos are tested before being shipped. Faulty chinese cables/serial adapters or loose connectors are common issues that can cause false negatives. If you still experience this let me know.

Hi Felix,

Thanks for your answer and don't worry family always come first for me too ;). I checked again a few minutes ago and ..... everything is fine.

Let's just say it was a big misunderstanding and probably a dumb error by me.
