I've released the magic smoke! 
The 5 pin chip near the charging and boost L.E.D released a puff of smoke! What part number is it please? I'm assuming its the LiPo charger?

Part is MCP73831 (SOT23-5).

TBH, I'm not quite sure! I was awake early, so had a play before work. My 'sketch' wasn't shutting the pi down. So I went to remove the hat to plug in to my laptop to debug, and POOF!

Possibly, but I cant remember, I just remember thinking quick disconnect the battery!
