Bellmote wiring help

Hey everyone,

I think I have this figured out in prepping a picture for the post but would like someone to confirm this if possible.  I just want to make sure I have the wiring right in my head for the bellmote.  Image in the left is mine, the two images on the right are from the blog post for reference.

Can't really tell for sure how the button<>bell wiring is routed, but I think it looks good.

I took the wire out and labeled them in a new picture so maybe its easier to see?  Thanks for your help!

Again, looks good from what I can tell, but I have no guarantees.
At the very least if you connect the transformer output to the BellMote, you should see it come on.
At which point if your wiring is correct, everything should just work.
If no dough, then you might want to invert the transformer inputs, this is no harm since its VAC anyway so the bellmote just takes GND reference from the second terminal.
If still no dough, then invert the button/bell wires on the BellMote.
If still no dough, then go back to original transformer wiring, that's about all the combinations. I think I went through this exercise myself till I got it right.

Be quick when you do these tests and you're not entirely sure of the current path, you want to avoid overheating your transformer if somehow you end up shorting its inputs through the BellMote - if that happens then the LED will go off and stay off indicating a fault.

Any tips on wiring one at the chime with a 2 button system?  Only two wires going from transformer, and would like the moteino inside the chime so I can also wire a PIR sensor.  Pic attached.

Although I've never tried the BellMote on a 2 button system before I believe it would work but you would only have the one tone for both front/back button presses.  If this meets your needs I would think you could run a wire from both buttons to the ring terminal of the BellMote.  I'm thinking you need two BellMotes or modifications to the one you have to get both tones like you have now.

Got it to work.  Probably had it wired right the 1st or 2nd time, but disabling the bell caused a continuous detect to the BellMote (red LED light on steady).  After reading the another post (https://lowpowerlab.com/forum/projects/bell-mote/msg18581/) I figured out the light in the button was the culprit.

Now to see if I can fit a PIR sensor and possibly a weathershield in the same mote.  Will be a tight fit.

Glad to hear you got it working.  I see you wired it like in the drawing I posted except for jumper between the front and back door terminals on the chime, may I ask why?  I never tried it but I'm assuming you would get the same tone as if you didn't have the jumper and just wired it to the front door terminal.  Yes, I mentioned the light issue in that thread and Felix said he was going to investigate and document.
