Strange Issue

We have a large moteino network on a controller  40+ nodes.  Last night and today, if we have a section powered on the whole network goes down.   The section houses about 20 nodes, any suggestions on what causes it, and how to find it without isolating them powering one at a time?   This would be rather time consuming as they are in walls.

I think its likely a burned out board, the section giving us issues is one and a half years old.

The only thing that could bring your whole network down (other than a gateway going berserk) is a node gone rogue and transmitting on a continuous basis, creating collisions and preventing well behaved nodes from communicating.

You'll need to have some kind of sniffer that looks for this type of thing.  You can make one from a spare Moteino, possibly promiscuous mode would provide some info (like the rogue node id).

Thanks Tom that was my thought as to what was happening.   Is there a guide or something to set this up?

I'll look around, just if you know where it is....

Looks like I set a node as promiscuous, then spit it out to serial monitor.    Have to look at libraries to see what output I can get, but I'm off site, and headed there now.
