Communication between RFM69HCW and RFM69HW ???

Is it possible to communicate between a RFM69HCW and a RFM69HW? 

I have the R4s HWs and the R6s no longer have the footprint for the RFM69HW .... has anyone successfully sent data back and forth between the different radios?

Yes, they look and operate the same from a software perspective.  The only significant difference is in the packaging (which has subtle differences in RF performance but you probably won't notice these unless your name is Joe).
