I have issue with connecting to new Moteino-USB.  The Arduino 1.8.1 software seems to recognize something and assigns COM4.  The Moteino-USB LED blinks (powered by computer USB port) a few times I don't see the sample program streaming and I cannot upload a sketch.

My other Moteino works perfectly on COM3.

Any suggestions on what to check?

After an hour of trying back and forth between my moteino that worked and the moteino-usb that didn't work, it finally worked.  I didn't do anything except took a 20 min break to walk the dog.

Physical connections can sometimes be an issue.
Also USB cables have been shown to fail in the past if they are poorly made.
Then comes the matter of FTDI drivers, this is a one time thing you have to do and you can install them from here: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm (or the direct drivers here: http://www.ftdichip.com/FTDrivers.htm)
Each time you plug a new FTDI device it will emulate a new serial COM port on a PC.
