compatibility with Rev2 Pi Connector

Greetings.  Is there any reason I couldn't use a 26 pin header and make the MightyHat work on the older Rev2 Pi?

Felix

Not really, all the used pins are in the 26pin section that existed on older boards. A reason for having all the 40 pins broken out is to be able to access all those pins with ease from the HAT.

Bummer..  So basically *incompatible* with the 26 pin connector.  I've got a BananaPi that is much faster that the RPi but has the legacy 26 pin connector on it.  So, no dice on making MightyHat work with that..

Well hold on, I mean there is no reason why it should not work. So I meant it should be OK, just solder the 26 pins and it should work, all the connections to the Pi are in that first 26 pin section (power, serial, BOOTOK and SHUTDOWN for power control, and a RST gpio to reset the atmega on the HAT), the rest are just passed through on the HAT and nothing is connected to them.
I don't have experience with the BananaPi and officially I only support the Pi since that was the target board the MHat was developed and tested against, so I don't know the specs and power needs of that board, I expect it's higher than a Pi.

Sorry for the confusion on your reply.  I, as you pointed out, thought you meant "not going to work"  which I interpreted that some of the MightyHat's required pins were in the new signals on the RPi B+ header and not part of the original 26 pins from the RPi Ver2.  Cool, then I'll consider picking one up.  It's such an elegant way to add Moteino to the Pi platform.  My home gateway is just craving it...  :)
