I currently have a 915 MHz setup using a RPi/Moteino USB and a few nodes. I'd like to set up an outside Weathershield to upload to Freeboard or Weatherunderground via API. If I use a Moteino Mega/Ethernet adapter for the base and another Moteino/Weathershield outside, will I have interference or conflicts if it's on 915 MHz or should I use a 433MHz setup here? I wondered if I could use the 915 MHz setup and use a different gateway/node numbers in the script
Stick with 915mhz, same radio hardware. You can use a different network ID. But the best thing is just shift the center frequency by say 1mhz, up or down, and then you're on a completely different channel, I use something like this to set it to 916mhz, you can do something similar on every node on your second network:
#define FREQUENCY_EXACT 916000000
void setup() {
/// ... radio init and everything else ...
#ifdef FREQUENCY_EXACT
radio.setFrequency(FREQUENCY_EXACT); //set frequency to some custom frequency
#endif
}
ok. I've discussed this with a couple of other people using a combo of Moteino and Spark stuff. I just want to have a Weathershield outside my house send readings to Freeboard. I only have your hardware and I haven't seen anyone mention how they've done this. I was considering having to go the combo route and use two RPis, hence the reason for the question
