I have a use case where the Switchmote would be perfect. I'd love to know how to replace one of the buttons with a motion sensor. Anyone been able to accomplish this?
That would be a hard thing to do unless you would redo the whole front shield and actually assemble the sensor on it. The off the shelf PIR motion sensor is very bulky for a job like that.
BUT ...
You can use the MotionMote by itself and sync it with a SwitchMote. Or they can work independently and just report back to the central node which can then decide what to do.
Ie ... motion detected, so tell SwitchMote X to turn light on/off. This is something I'd like to get to do myself. Right now I'm concentrating on making a much safer/more compliant SwitchMote.
Ah cool. Ques, would the safer version be ready in a few weeks? If not, I'll just get the current one. Safer is always preferred of course :)
Well I'm not sure. I have to wait to get parts on Monday and align everything with the footprints before I submit for fabbing. So if I submit next week that will take about 10 days. After I get them back I need to do some testing, add another 2-3 days. So it could be 3 weeks from now before I know I have a working design or not.
Worth noting that the new design should be working reliably at 220V+ (non US places).
Perfect. Thanks!
