Hello everyone,
is there any "good" smartwatch/wearable device on market which is compatible to the rfm69 ecosystem?
I was looking at products from lilygo, like the lilygo t-watch s3. There is a sx1263 lora chip (RFM96) integrated and some other stuff. My illusion was, i can purchase these watch, reconfigure the rf module to work in fsk mode and dissable encryption. But the reality is more frustrating that i thought. To get one of the examples of lilygo, i will destroy a couple of days and maybe i wont get the sx1263 talk to my rfm69 nodes/gateway.
The goal is, that i want to add a smartwatch/ or any wearable in the pigateway ecosystem, so i get informed for conditions.
- Display, to show received message
- cap-Touch or switch, for HMI
- vibration motor, for notice the user
- charger+battery, for good lifetime
- rfm69 radio, for compatibility
I don't know of one that is compatible with RFM69. I believe you'd need a much more compact/integrated PCB design to achieve a watch/portable platform.
The PiGateway (https://lowpowerlab.com/gateway) (if that's what you refer to) is actually hardware agnostic, it only requires a simple serial protocol. So you could either build it with LoRa that is compatible with the liligo t-watch, or make a LoRa-RFM69 bridge and use the off the shelf t-watch(es).
Hi Felix,
thank you for your quick thoughts. You brought me to a new conceptional direction of the solution. A LoRa-RFM69 bridge.
- Raspberry pi with two different moteoinos (Rfm96 / Rfm69) handled in the pigateway script, which determines nodes to each of the two dedicated serial ports
- Raspberry pi with Moteino RF69 which talks via serial to another Moteino Rfm96 https://github.com/brandock/Open-Energy-Monitor-LoRa-Bridge (https://github.com/brandock/Open-Energy-Monitor-LoRa-Bridge)
My favourite will be the first one. Is there maybe already a project or solution online, where more than one gateway-moteinos are conected to one pigateway instance?
Possibly, but I'm not aware of one that comes to mind.
