Title: RFM23bp Shield

hi folks,
does anyone  had the chance to experiment with the RFM23bp?  I was tempted to do that, but i couldn't find  any shield out there to mount the rfm23.
So I  decided to build my own  RFM23BP arduino pro mini  shield.  I am trying  to do something simple with the arduino clones that are very cheap, so the idea is to  cut the arduino pro mini edges to  solder it on top of the PCB shield  one side the arduino and the other the RFM23BP.. .  I want to know if any of you try one of those before ?

RFM23bp is a 1W TX output transceiver (!), you will need a good stable supply and low power is probably out of the question, unless perhaps you are running from a hefty solar array.
I just noticed you're from Cuba? That's awesome, I love that we have a Cuban who is posting interesting experiments in this forum, keep it coming!

Yes I am from Cuba, ..one of those lucky Cubans that had the chance get out from the communism.. long story my friend, long journey to get  here , as many Cubans I have very interesting history about my life, my passion for the electronic world came up since I was 13 years old, a son of small farmers, I grew up without electricity and without TV until I was 17 years old, but that fact didn't stop my passion about how the electronic things (the few that I had at home a Russian radio) operate.. I took the opportunity to study and become an engineer.. not electronic.. but very close to that that allow me to learn the basic of analog and digital electronics.. electronics was always my hobby back there..not my job.. and one of my passion was to build small home brew transmitter .. getting the parts from old Russian electronics . I remember the first time that i was able to get connection to the internet was in 1997 in my first job.. i didn't sleep that night just trying to get as much as i could electronics schematics and diagrams of my interest.. never had the chance during the university to get in touch the www :(.
Last part of my story was when I was lucky to get out of Cuba (2007) for a Job in Australia.. where I lived for 3 years.. that jump cost me a lot, been separated from my family (wife and 2 children s) , the Cuban government at that time didn't allow them to go out or me to go back.. so that was hard.. the next you won't believe it.. accidentally I won the green card lottery to live in USA.. I didn't expect that! I was focusing in get settle in Australia.. but with the chance to be living in USA so close to Cuba made me take the decision to came here. after I get here I took the risk to back to Cuba and they allow me enter the country..after been away from them for 4 long years.. then another story for other moment..
the other day I discovered you have YouTube channel I was very impressive about all your expertise and the way you share with masses all your knowledge , honestly I feel pretty identified with your passion of what you do.
Now I am very blessed , my family is reunited with me after   long 7 year living apart,  got a great job an an great american multinational company, and still having time to play with electronics, and learning for people like you that love to share what you have learned!

I can almost identify with you, I am also an immigrant to the USA, from Romania which was also communist until 1989. I was pretty young then to really feel the oppression on my own skin but I am sure in many ways we have a similar history growing up. My first computer was in 1997 and internet was years later with dial up at 56k, still very slow and downloading a song or two in a day was a big deal. I have always had interest in electronics but my real journey began during college and afterwards when I started playing with arduino. Looking forward to see more of your experiments!
