Just found Moteino and still a startup on pi,arduino,openHAB....
My english is not the best so please take a bit consideration.
Would like to ask you if Monteino could be fine for my project.
One node will be a solar powered senders for windspeed, temp., humidy and many more .
Another for the pool (maybe different HW because of switching relais and other sensors used).
These nodes should talk over 433Mhz for a good signal strengh and long range distance. (to get trough walls...)
Each node should extend the range to the master in the house. (this could be achieved later on)
Actually there is a Pi2B with openHAB as Master planned to get the Web/Ui. Do not know now if the the Web/Ui of Monteino could do the job either. openHAB with the rules inside does then many automations for my garden.
Planned is to automate a sprinkler system, pool, mower and many more. The nodes must have a fail-safe, means when the RF connection to the master is lost, the node hase to do things to keep garden-things running (maybe the settings inside the Web/Ui will be transfered as default values..)

I would just encourage you to take a look at the projects forum (https://lowpowerlab.com/forum/index.php/board,4.0.html) and see what others did.
Also if you visit the lowpowerlab.com (http://lowpowerlab.com) blog you can see what I automated myself with Moteinos.
Moteino is a simple 8bit MCU platform that allows you to do many things, put it in very tight places, run on batteries, and all wireless.
Back when I created the Moteino I tried to think of all the things I would ever want to control and automate. So that's how it came into being.

I have tried many different options myself, ESP8266, RFM, XBee, Ethernet, CAN, ....
Although I am just starting with Moteino, I can say that it will perfectly suit your needs according to what you are asking. Depending on your experience it will take more or less time but the most difficult work has already been done by Felix.
I would suggest you get a couple of Moteino units and start trying things step by step.

I am not a prof. electronic developer, but with your help maybe we could develope a board for me ;)
The thread with the battery remote watervalve is exactly the first part of it!
This is the first project I would like to automate.
Including several watervalves, moisture sensors, humidy, temp. ...
Thinking of valve batteries and single node devices.
Means one node could control for example 4-6 valves, other node just 1, other node 2.
Every node measures the moisture as reference.
The master-node on the water pipe also measures the water that is going to the system, temp., humidy and so on.
Nodes have to work via battery (and solar module) and communicate over 433Mhz.
The Pi2B in the house communicates to all nodes, regulates, automates (acutally via openHAB and Web/Ui).
First, which boards for my project.
Soldering is not a problem to me.
