CurrentRanger Windows 7 USB driver

Hi all,

I realize Windows 7 is old and no longer supported but must stick with this for a little while for a few reasons.

This said, has anyone have any success getting their Current Ranger work over USB to a Windows 7 box? I just want the CR to output data, that's it!

Using the driver on the LBL website (lowpowerlab.com/downloads/CurrentRanger_driver.zip), this driver installs and appears to work but that's where it stops, puTTY and others don't seem to be able to communicate with the CR.

If I connect my CR to a Windows 10 box, then W10 uses the default usbser.sys/.inf drivers and puTTY works and I can see the menu... but this is not my W10 box! I tried this just to rule-out the CR.

So it's really just a matter of proper drivers but for the life of me, I've tried 4 different drivers for this type of USB device (Adafruit, Sparkfun, Windows 10 and LPL's provided driver) and none of them work or just don't want to work because Windows says they are not signed. I even followed a prodecure to force W7 to ignore driver signing and that still doesn't work.

I am at a loss here. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Ben

[EDIT] After spending hourse trying a whole slew of different drivers, I finally stumbled upon one I had on my PC. The file in question is called <simlteusbser.sys>. These drivers are actually for a SIMCOM SIM7600A modem but in the background, it appears to be a Qualcomm driver (SIMCOM uses Qualcomm). I haven't tested it just yet but now puTTY displays the menu properly on my Windows 7 box. I have attached the file to this post.
