Title: WiringPi install issues on RaspBMC
Post by: Nomis2009 on March 13, 2014, 01:09:37 PM
Hi,

i just got the ATXraspi board and got it all set up as the instructions say (physically)

i then got onto the coding (im totally new to this :/)

im using a brand new mc with RaspBMC running, i follow the commands to get the wiringPi downloaded and it tells me,

pi@raspbmc:~/wiringPi$ ./build
wiringPi Build script
=====================

WiringPi Library
sudo: make: command not found
./build: 59: ./build: make: not found

Make Failed...
Please check the messages and fix any problems. If you're still stuck,
then please email all the output and as many details as you can to
  [email protected]

so i found on here that for it you need to install the make and gcc (http://lowpowerlab.com/forum/index.php/topic,17.msg170.html#msg170)

when i try to do that i get the message of pi@raspbmc:~$ sudo apt-get make
E: Invalid operation make
.

now i am really stuck and need help to get this working :(

Simon

I'm not sure how to help with that, I would suggest asking the creator of WiringPi how to get it going on RaspbMC.

Be sure to follow the steps at lowpowerlab.com/atxraspi
Your RaspbMC will need to run rc.local at startup where the script is running from, if not your Pi won't listen for a HALT command from ATXRaspi.
During startup watch for the script starting up, it should print:

ATXRaspi shutdown script starting…
Asserting pins (7=in,low; 8=out,high)

Again .. just check the guide, everything is in there.
