Title: mechanical switch
Post by: alecrippa on January 07, 2015, 02:23:42 AM
hi all,
is there a way to turn the Pi off without having to keep the switch pressed for 4 secs (but rather by simply pressing it)?
I have a mechanical switch that clicks into position..

to be more clear: something like this

I suppose you refer to ATXRaspi.
The ATXRaspi can be programmed to issue a shutoff immediately but the stock ATXRaspis ship with the default setting of a few seconds to keep it safe from accidental shutdowns.
By mechanical switch i have no idea what you mean. A rocker or toggle switch? A momentary switch?
