Latching switch triggering when bumped
« on: July 16, 2017, 02:03:27 PM »
I'm using a push/pull type latching switch, it activates when bumped/wiggled. Is there a way to change how long the switch needs to be disconnected before triggering shutdown? If so, how can I adjust it.

Sounds like a flimsy switch, or loose wiring to the board?

Sorry I think  was mistaken when I implied it was triggering a shutdown. I believe t is triggering a reset, and not a shutdown then coming back on right away. I sure it's a reset command because I get the "watchdog watch out" message on retropie every single "restart system" and never with "shutdown system".

Based on the behavior it definitely sounds a flaky switch.
No switch should make a closure when "bumped/wiggled".
I would look into getting another switch. Try it with another switch and see what happens in the the same "bumped/wiggled" conditions.
