Title: Atxraspi powersupply
Post by: Thommy86 on May 23, 2016, 05:23:58 PM
Hi,

I am starting a project to use a nes as a case for the raspberry pi. I am also using the pi with hyperion to manage led lights. At the moment, in my current case, I use a 5v 15amp to provide the pi, leds, usb hub directly.

Now I am confused regarding some posts. Is it possible to use the atxraspi with my setup?

If you need more information, I can make a schematic.

Edit:
When will the ATXraspi be available again?

You cannot use ATXRaspi to drive 15A through it. Ie it is only meant to drive your Pi. To switch on other 5V loads when ATXRaspi turns your Pi on, use a power mosfet or relay or something like that.
It will be available as soon as a new batch is made, in a few days I hope.
Thanks

The ATXraspi will only switch the Pi. The rest will directly connected to the powersupply. This will be ok?

Is it possible to use the non-momentary power button for power and reset to trigger the reset script?
Or is it a must to make the power button momentary?

From what you describe it should be ok yes.
With the current firmware you have to use a momentary button.
I plan to look into making it possible to use with a non-momentary as well, something to do as a future improvement or feature.

That's great to hear! What about 2 buttons? Would that me possible? (Like for the NES)

2 buttons, on a single pin? How would that work?

I didn't thought it was a strange question, until you replyed!  :o maybe for a future improvement. Would be nice to have a separate power and reset button for my project.

Thanks for your response, will order when new stock arrives!

Oh so you mean reset separately. I don't think that will be implemented. You can do a lot of things with a single button :)
