Title: ATX-Raspi shutdown/reboot problems [solved]
Post by: Bernie on January 17, 2016, 10:38:54 AM
Hello,
I got the ATX-Raspi including button, assembled everything as described in the video. I checked also the button for function. I installed the bash script and checked all the files (everything is there and as described in the video).
I can start the raspberry pi with the button, but the led on the ATX-Raspi doesn't light up and it is not possible to shutdown or reboot the Raspberry pi.
Does anybody have an idea what I did wrong?
Many Thanks
Bernie

Sounds like your rc.local is not running the shutdowncheck script.
In the video I show where the script is executed at the end of boot. Do you see that text?
Also ensure the connections are going to the right pins, if they are reversed or shifted that will cause it not to work.

Hello Felix,
thank you very much for the reply.
I checked the rc.local and there is the text to run the script and I checked also a few times the that the pins connected in the right way.
Everything seems to be as described in the video - but still it doesn't work.
I gave the ATX-Raspi to a friend - he will check it with his Raspberry pi.
Many Thanks
Bernie

FYI the rc.local line has to be BEFORE "exit 0"
Also, you should see a message like the following when your Pi boots up:

ATXRaspi shutdown script started: asserted pins ....

Hello Felix,
I could not find anything wrong and I started from scratch. I formatted my SD card and put the RetroPie image on again.
After installing the script it works without any problems.
Many thanks
